This cookie policy explains how Datalystics Oy uses cookies and similar technologies in its web service.
1. What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that is stored on the user's device (computer, phone, or tablet) when the user visits a web service. Cookies allow the web service to recognize the user's device, remember the user's choices, and improve service functionality.
2. What are cookies used for?
Datalystics Oy uses cookies for the following purposes:
- Ensuring technical functionality of the service
- Managing user sessions
- Ensuring security
- Storing user preferences
- Measuring Google Ads conversions with consent
3. Types of cookies used
3.1 Necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the service to function and cannot be disabled. They are used for:
- Enabling SSO authentication
- Maintaining sessions
- Ensuring security
- Handling error situations
Legal basis: legitimate interest and contract
3.2 Functional cookies
These cookies are used to enhance user experience, for example:
- Language preferences
- User interface settings
Legal basis: user consent
3.3 Analytics cookies
No separate service using analytics cookies is currently loaded. Active time on public pages is measured without cookies or persistent browser storage. A random page-specific identifier exists only in JavaScript memory and does not connect a visitor across pages or visits. The public page path, language and active seconds are sent to Microsoft Azure.
Legal basis for cookie-free measurement: legitimate interest in service development.
If analytics cookies are introduced later, they will require the user's freely given consent.
3.4 Google Ads conversion cookies
Google Ads conversion measurement is used on public pages only when the visitor accepts marketing cookies. It helps determine whether an advertisement leads to an action such as a contact request. Ad personalization is disabled.
Legal basis: the user's freely given consent.
4. Third-party cookies
Google Ads conversion measurement is provided by Google Ireland Limited.
Measurement may process cookie identifiers, page and referrer URLs, event timestamps, browser and device information, and IP addresses. Google may process data outside the EU/EEA under an applicable adequacy decision or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Necessary technical cookies related to Microsoft Azure may be used to deliver the service.
5. Cookie retention period
Cookie retention periods vary by type:
- Session cookies: expire with the session or when the browser is closed
- cookie_consent_prefs: remembers the cookie choice for 12 months
- Anonymous consent audit evidence: retained server-side for 395 days
- Google Ads _gcl* cookies: up to 90 days
- Other persistent necessary cookies: up to 12 months
6. Managing and deleting cookies
Users can:
- Accept or reject non-essential cookies through the cookie banner
- Change their consent at any time through the cookie tool
- Block cookies through browser settings
- Delete cookies from browser history
7. Personal data processing in connection with cookies
Cookie-free active-time measurement does not store a user or device identifier and does not track a visitor between pages. Server and cloud-service logs may still contain technical network data. Personal data processing is described in our privacy statement.
8. Changes to cookie policy
This cookie policy may be updated due to legislative changes or service development. All changes will be published on this page. If the purpose of optional cookies changes materially, the previous choice will no longer apply and the user will be asked for renewed consent.
